Enhance your observability workflows by sending real-time event notifications and log data to JIRA. With this outbound webhook, you can easily integrate Coralogix with JIRA, automate responses to critical events, and improve your organization’s incident management and alerting processes.

Prerequisites

Access Your JIRA API Token

STEP 1. In this page, Click Create API token

STEP 2. Input a label. Click Create.

STEP 3. Please copy the generated API token and save it in a text file. You will need this token when configuring the webhook in Coralogix.

Access Your JIRA Project Key

STEP 1. While logged into JIRA with your credentials, navigate to Projects from your JIRA toolbar.

STEP 2. The project key can be found within the parentheses to the right of the project name in the Projects dropdown menu.

Create a JIRA Webhook

STEP 1. From the Coralogix toolbar, navigate to DATA FLOW > EXTENSIONS.

STEP 2. In the Outbound Webhooks section, click JIRA WEBHOOK.

STEP 3. Click + ADD NEW.

STEP 4. Enter the following details:

  • Webhook Name. Enter a name for your webhook that will enable you to easily identify this webhook later when attaching it to one of your alerts.
  • URL. Enter the JIRA webhook URL. The JIRA webhook URL is https://YOUR-ATLASSIAN-DOMAIN.atlassian.net/rest/api/3/issue.
  • API Token. Enter the API token copied in the [prerequisites].
  • Email. Enter the email used in your JIRA credentials.
  • Project Key. Enter the project key from JIRA that you found in the [prerequisites].

STEP 5. Click TEST CONFIG.

To test your configuration, the system creates a task in your JIRA dashboard. If the task is created successfully, a confirmation message is displayed.

STEP 6. Once the configuration is confirmed, select the alert(s) for which this webhook will be used when triggered.

STEP 7. Click ADD next to the alert(s) of choice. The Alert Notifications panel will appear.

STEP 8. In the Notification Groups section, the new webhook should appear in the list. Click + ADD WEBHOOK, and select the newly created webhook. Click SAVE CHANGES.

You may assign the webhook to more than one notification group.

STEP 9. Click FINISH.
