Save and schedule dashboard PDF reports

Save any Custom Dashboard as a PDF for one-time sharing, or schedule recurring PDF reports that are automatically delivered to email recipients at the cadence you choose.

Note

This feature is in beta and available for early-access customers. To request access and confirm your organization meets the feature criteria, contact your account representative or Support.

Prerequisites

  • The team-dashboards:Update permission.

Save a dashboard as a PDF

When you save a dashboard as a PDF, you create a snapshot of all widgets with the latest available data.

1.

In the upper-right corner of your Custom Dashboard, open the more actions menu and select Save as PDF.

The dashboard PDF is automatically downloaded to your local drive.

Schedule a report

Share a dashboard on a recurring cadence by defining a scheduled task that saves the PDF and sends it to specified email recipients. Configure the recurrence with the default builder or customize it with a cron expression.

1.

In the upper-right corner, open the more actions menu and select Schedule Report.

2.

In the Settings section of the Schedule Report dialog box, configure the following:

  • Name
  • Recipients. Enter destination email(s).

3.

In the Event Recurrence section, while in Builder mode, configure the following:

  • Frequency. Define how frequently the report is sent: daily, weekly, or monthly. Sub-daily options (every 4, 8, or 12 hours) are available as a limited beta feature — contact Support to enable them for your team.
  • Depending on the selected frequency, define the time, day of the week, day of the month, time zone, and other time-related parameters.

If the default Builder mode doesn't provide the frequency options you need, use Cron Expression mode for flexible scheduling alternatives. In the Event Recurrence section, select Cron Expression mode and create a cron job according to your scheduling requirements.

4.

Select Schedule Report to finish.

Limitations

  • Maximum of 2 reports per day for daily, weekly, and monthly schedules. Sub-daily schedules (every 4, 8, or 12 hours) have different limits — contact Support for details.

  • A single dashboard can be associated with one scheduling job. If you need different frequencies or destinations, duplicate the dashboard and define a separate destination list and frequency.

  • Reports run under the permissions and data scope of the user who initiated the report request (the Report Initiator). At execution time, the report is generated according to the Report Initiator's access.
