The following terms are central to understanding Notification Center.

## Entity[](#entity "Direct link to Entity")

An **entity** is a specific configuration that defines how notifications are sent from Coralogix, such as an individual alert definition.

## Entity type and subtype[](#entity-type-and-subtype "Direct link to Entity type and subtype")

An **entity type** refers to a component of the Coralogix infrastructure capable of sending notifications, such as Alerts and Cases.

An **entity subtype** provides additional granularity within an entity type, ensuring precise schema support for different types of notifications.

## Destination type[](#destination-type "Direct link to Destination type")

A **destination type** is a category of third-party vendors that Notification Center supports, such as Slack or PagerDuty.

## Connector[](#connector "Direct link to Connector")

A **connector** is a specific integration instance within a destination type, acting as the link between Coralogix and a third-party vendor. Examples include `slack-workspace-1`, `jane@company.com`, or `My_PagerDuty`. Notifications can be sent to multiple connectors within the same destination type or across different destination types.

## Preset[](#preset "Direct link to Preset")

A **preset** is a predefined configuration that dictates the format and structure of a notification. Presets are based on the entity type and subtype, ensuring consistency and ease of use while allowing customization when needed.

## Destination[](#destination "Direct link to Destination")

A **destination** consists of a pre-configured connector and preset, and any specific customizations or overrides made to these configurations. For alerts, configure a destination as part of an alert definition.
