Explain Log
Get clear, natural language explanations for individual log entries. Olly analyzes the selected log and provides a plain-language summary of what happened, why it matters, and what may have caused it — so you can quickly understand any log without deep technical knowledge of the service that generated it.
Note
Enabling Explain log does not trigger a scan of the entire log database. It analyzes logs only when you run it on individual log entries.
What Explain log provides
- Severity level — Color-coded severity (Info, Warning, Error, Critical) for quick identification
- What happened — A concise summary of what the log entry is reporting
- How significant is this — The relevance of the event and whether action is needed
- What is the impact — The immediate and potential future impact on your system
- Potential reasons (for Warning severity and above) — Root cause analysis of why the issue may have occurred
- Additional important fields — Infrastructure-related fields (cluster name, pod UID, instance ID, etc.) that provide additional context
If a technical term appears in the explanation, hover over the underlined term to view its definition.
Limitations
Maximum length for an explainable log entry is 4,096 tokens.
