10x Banking is a modern, cloud-native, core banking platform that helps financial institutions build and operate secure core systems at scale across both internally managed and customer-hosted environments.

The challenge

10x’s observability setup had a number of issues. Proprietary collectors were embedded directly into images and clusters, meaning the risk of vendor lock-in was significant. OpenTelemetry was not a first class citizen, and as a result, had varying support throughout their platform of choice.

At the same time, costs were unpredictable. Vendor overages were hard to understand, and the team lacked clear visibility into what was driving spend or how to fix it independently. As the platform scaled, these limitations became increasingly restrictive.

The migration to Coralogix

With Coralogix, 10x took the opportunity to redesign observability around open standards.

“Coralogix is OpenTelemetry-first. It’s not an afterthought.”

The team standardized on OpenTelemetry, deploying OTel collectors across core infrastructure and customer environments, and replacing proprietary instrumentation with flexible OpenTelemetry agents. The migration was completed in two phases and ran in parallel with the existing setup to ensure customer visibility and a smooth cutover.

Core infrastructure was deployed within a month, giving the team immediate confidence and headroom to scale. Coralogix’s flexibility allowed 10x to support customer-managed environments, Infrastructure as Code workflows, and secure ingestion requirements without locking teams into proprietary tooling.

The outcome: Strategic alignment and data control

With Coralogix, 10x has successfully pushed a number of complex use cases that were impossible with their previous vendor.

With Coralogix, the team can:

  • Identify and reduce high-cardinality metrics
  • Tune telemetry using the TCO Optimizer & Intelligent Tiering in S3, allowing dynamic routing to replace cherry-picking and keep coverage when it matters most.
  • Send all telemetry via PrivateLink with no public internet exposure

Coralogix has also become a key enabler of 10x’s AI strategy for engineering. By leveraging the Coralogix MCP server, the team is integrating observability data directly into new AIOps initiatives. This allows engineering teams to reason over logs, metrics, and traces programmatically, using observability data as a trusted input for automation and decision-making.

The results are clear:

  • Core data migrated in a month, with the rest of  a complex, cloud based, multitenant architecture moved over 3 months including complex alert migration and full cutover from previous, vendor specific collectors to OpenTelemetry.
  • 75% reduction in observability costs, coupled with a 10× increase in telemetry volume, from 2TB per day to 20+ TB per day of logs, metrics, and traces
  • A scalable, OpenTelemetry-first observability foundation
  • Clear productivity improvements with engineers making fewer support requests and leveraging 15s response times from Coralogix in-app support teams

Coralogix has transformed observability at 10x from a source of friction into a platform built for scale, security, and long-term growth.
